The top seven countries with the most corresponding authors are: United States,
China, United Kingdom, Germany, Netherland, Australia, Canada. There is a large
gap between the United States and other countries. The United States has nearly twice
as many corresponding authors as China, the second-highest country. The number of
authors from each country generally decreases as you move down the list. However,
a few exceptions exist, such as Turkey and Italy, which have more authors than New
Zealand and Brazil. The graph also includes a breakdown of the publications by Single
Country Publications (SCP) and Multiple Country Publications (MCP). SCPs are
papers where all of the authors are from the same country, while MCPs are papers
where the authors are from multiple countries.
